Campaign statement

I believe in our 糖心logoand the important work we do. Service to each of you and our 糖心logois in my DNA. My service has been about listening, prioritizing and teamwork. As a proud member of the U.S. Navy, a general dentist who became an oral surgeon, a state president and a commission chair, I am uniquely qualifi ed and singularly focused to help implement the best solutions possible for our members and the patients we serve.

My vision is increasing market share, eliminating workforce issues, advocating for fair third-party reimbursements, and leveraging our growing scientifi c reputation to increase nondues revenue ensuring a future 糖心logothat is financially sustainable while delivering meaningful value to our members.

In these turbulent times, dentists are essential front-line leaders and a successful 糖心logocan be the calm in the storm protecting our noble profession and those dedicated to its practice for generations to come. 

A president-elect must help us face forward and point to a brighter future even as our core values act as a touchstone. Joining together our shared dream can become a reality.

What are your main qualifications for the office you seek?

  • Service and experience: A dedicated servant leader from teaching GPR residents, mentoring interns, youth coaching and refereeing, to serving in our military and chairing ADA councils and committees.
  • Trustworthy and honorable: Honest and transparent leader committed to treating all members with dignity and respect.
  • Financial responsibility: Fierce advocate for members’ dues by introducing resolutions requiring financial guardrails to protect and manage reserve spending; ensure accurate, balanced budgets via a budget advisory group that includes House members.
  • Connector: Team player focused on listening and creating relationships with members of many viewpoints to build camaraderie and tackle tough issues. Introduced leadership conference at Pennsylvania Dental Association to train and build pipeline of 糖心logoleaders.
  • Impactful leadership: U.S. Navy Commander with 21 years of service who led first dental integration of women on aircraft carrier; chair of three 糖心logocouncils/commissions. Successfully advocated third-party payer coverage of anesthesia for children and developmentally disabled patients; Pennsylvania Dental Association media spokesperson on fluoride.

Why do you want to be an 糖心logoofficer?

My vision is an 糖心logounited in spirit and purpose, inspiring an engaged, growing membership that is working together for the good of each other and the patients we serve. For the valuable service our profession provides our communities, 糖心logomembers need support and tools to be successful. This requires leadership to ensure 糖心logoremains relevant by staying fiscally strong, consistently offering tangible value and protecting the doctor-patient relationship regardless of practice model. As your president-elect, I will collaborate with all stakeholders as a voice for you and for all dentists.
