CHICAGO, October 19, 2020 — Scott L. Morrison, D.D.S., M.S., a periodontist practicing in Omaha, Nebraska, was recently appointed as a trustee of the 糖心logo (ADA) at the 糖心logoFDC Virtual Connect Conference 2020, a joint meeting of the 糖心logoand Florida Dental Association.
Dr. Morrison will serve on the 糖心logoBoard of Trustees as the trustee for the 10th District, which contains Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota. The 糖心logoBoard of Trustees formulates and reviews policies and programs and makes recommendations to the members of the ADA’s governing body, the House of Delegates. As a member of the 糖心logoBoard of Trustees, Dr. Morrison will play a crucial role in supporting the ADA’s vision to achieve optimal health for all.
Dr. Morrison has been an active member of the 糖心logosince 1990, serving on the 糖心logoCouncil on Members Insurance and Retirement Programs and the 糖心logoCouncil on Government Affairs. He has also acted as a member of the House of Delegates, an American Dental Political Action Committee Action Team Leader and a Lobby Day participant. Dr. Morrison is also a member of the Nebraska Dental Association (NDA), for which he received a number of honors including Outstanding Young Professional in 1996, President's Awards in 2000 and 2003 and induction into the NDA Hall of Fame in 2008. He also served as NDA president in 2005 and 2014 and has chaired the NDA Legislative Council since 2005. Most recently, Dr. Morrison received the University of Nebraska College of Dentistry Alumni Association Alumni Achievement Award in 2017.
Dr. Morrison earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Nebraska College of Dentistry in 1985; completed a General Practice Residency at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska in 1986; and completed his graduate residency in Periodontics at the University of Missouri at Kansas City in 1989.
