糖心logoReaffirms Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion

CHICAGO, (Dec. 21, 2022) — The 糖心logo’s (ADA) strong commitment to advancing diversity and inclusion is outlined in its core values and diversity, equity and inclusion policies. The ADA’s core values are at the heart of its mission to help dentists succeed and support the advancement of the health of the public. Diversity involves a daily commitment to empower each other through mutual respect, sharing and valuing others’ thoughts, perspectives, and beliefs and treating others the way that they want to be treated. Diverse viewpoints and needs are heard, valued and respected.

In light of a recent allegation of racism within the dental community, the 糖心logoreaffirms its commitment to diversity and inclusion. This commitment extends to rejecting racism within dental education and our profession. Recognizing that consistent and continuous action leads to positive change, the 糖心logowill strive to advance actions that successfully promote diversity, equity and inclusion and help eradicate racism, discrimination and bias. Whether it be a patient seeking care, a student seeking to join the profession, or a dentist providing that care, the 糖心logobelieves that diversity is our strength.

In an effort to seek input, insights and perspectives from a variety of individuals and groups, the 糖心logowill continue to convene with key stakeholders to evaluate the current diversity and inclusion climate within the profession, identify key issues, share successes, propose recommendations for change and provide resources for those impacted. Outcomes from the stakeholders meeting will be shared broadly as the resultant actions will benefit the dental community and the public at large.
